My journey into numismatics began not with a rare discovery, but with a question. While holding a replica of an Athenian tetradrachm, I found myself wondering how the original had survived across millennia. That curiosity led me into excavation records, where I learned that coin hoards unearthed from the Athenian Agora were not merely objects of metal, but preserved evidence of trade routes, political authority, and economic behavior.

What began as fascination quickly became research. I realized coins were the closest surviving economic documents of ancient civilizations silent witnesses to inflation, empire expansion, war financing, and shifts in monetary policy. Unlike textbooks, coins carried proof: rulers asserting legitimacy, states signaling stability, and societies encoding power into currency.

NumisNova was created as an extension of that realization. It is not just a collection of coin images, but a space to analyze coins as historical data. Through structured interpretation and accessible writing, I aim to connect collectors, students, and researchers to the deeper economic and political stories embedded in currency across time.
